AFF Course Outline
Ground School – 5 hour course that will teach you the basics for your first skydive
- Introduction to your Equipment
- Aircraft Safety Procedures
- Free Fall procedures
- Altitude Awareness
- Emergency Procedures
- Canopy Control
Following completion you will be qualified to participate in Level 1-4 of the AFF course. Each jump has basic requirements that must be met to advance to the next level.
Level 1 and 2
Free fall with 2 instructors at your side. Instructors are like training wheels. They coach you during your free fall, from exit to opening. Using grips at both your sides your instructors are able to support you, coach and critique your jump for a safe and successful progression to solo status.
Level 1
- Aircraft exit with 2 instructors
- Neutral Body position
- Altimeter checks
- Practice pulls
- Opening your parachute at 5,500ft
- Follow ground control to steer yourself to a soft, on target landing
Level 2
- Aircraft Exit with 2 instructors
- Altimeter check and practice pull
- Follow an instructor through 90 and 180 degree turns
- Open your parachute at 5,500ft
- Follow ground control to steer yourself to a soft, on target landing
Level 3 and 4
Jump with one instructor on a release dive. The training wheels come off and you get to freefall alone for the first time.
Level 3
- Aircraft Exit with 1 instructor
- Altimeter check and practice pull
- Instructor releases
- Turn 90 and 180 using your instructor as a heading
- Open your parachute at 5,500ft
- Begin to self steer you parachute to a soft, on target landing
Level 4
- Dive out exit
- Altimeter check and practice pull
- BACKFLIP
- Forward movement toward your instructor
- Open your parachute at 5,000ft
- Steer yourself to the ground for a soft, on target landing
Coach Jumps
Coach jumps may be required until you can pack your own parachute and you and your coach feel confident in your ability to make your first solo free fall.
So, here you are! You've completed the Accelerated Freefall course and now, "the sky is the limit!!" After completing 25 jumps you are eligible for the CAPS A license. This allows you to jump at different drop zones around the world.
The program runs 7 days a week by appointment.
AFF Classes begin at 10 a.m. consisting of 4 separate levels.
AFF chief instructor - Jess Harper - (with experience of over 8,000 jumps) and a team of freefall instructors assist on your jumps through training for License and Certification.
